For Wilke: New York Christmas date

Daphne wasn't going to waste the chance to have an awesome 'Christmas in New York City' type date with no expense spared, even if any shopping would probably not survive the change back to the island. She was okay with that, it would still be fun shopping without a budget.

She also wasn't going to sit around and wait for Wilke to come up with the idea. She had a feeling the island wouldn't stay like this long enough for that to bear fruit, after all. Which is why she bundled up in a cute mint green and cream striped sweater, jeans, and a warm coat, and marched up to Wilke's apartment, knocking firmly.

"Get your coat, you're taking me on a date," she announced as soon as he opened the door.

His arms gave way not soon after her body stopped shaking beneath him. He collapsed beside her, face into his pillow, arm around her waist. After a minute, he lifted his hand to fingerspell to her. "Sorry."

Daphne blinked, focusing on his hand belatedly when she realized he was talking to her. She caught enough of it to get what he was signing and snorted. "Sorry for what?" Not that she really wanted to talk just then. She would be fine with just lying here for a while and basking.

"Too fast," he fingerspelled back slowly, glad her back was to him. She didn't seem angry and that gave him a little hope. He disposed of the condom and spooned behind her, hand soft on her belly.

Daphne laughed and nestled back against him. "I don't mind. It was better than I expected." She'd expected it to be awkward and uncomfortable, and instead it had been--not perfect, but very enjoyable and something she was looking forward to doing again.

He decided to take advantage of the fact she couldn't see his lips and use it as a reason to not ask what she'd expected. Cowardly? Maybe. But he really didn't want an answer to that one right now. He might be taking home a C in performance, but as he'd told his parents numerous times...at least it was passing?

Instead, he took her hand in his, pressed a kiss to her shoulder, and put his head on the pillow behind hers.

Daphne closed her eyes for a few moments, comfortable and drowsy. "Is it okay if I stay here tonight?" she asked quietly, opening her eyes again and shifting in his arms to face him. The thought of getting dressed and going back to her own apartment was wholly unappealing.

"Of course," he said back, his arms still around her, though loosened from when she shifted around. His lips touched her forehead softly, then a small smile curved one corner of his mouth. "As long as you promise not to steal the covers."

Daphne laughed softly and snuggled against him. "I promise to try not to steal them. That's the best I can do."

"As long as I don't get grief for stealing them back," he countered, then kissed her forehead.

"Deal," she murmured, and closed her eyes, relaxing against him. It was strange to think about falling asleep like this, but a really good kind of strange.

She could get used to this.
