When they finally made it back from their unexpected adventure to the second island, Daphne left the others and grabbed a change of clothes from her room before heading for the shower. She cleaned herself up and washed her hair, then dried off and got dressed, pulling her wet hair back into a braid.
She stopped by her room again, dropping her dirty clothes into the basket she used for a hamper, then looked at her bed, considering just lying down and taking a nap. But though she was tired, she was also keyed up, and kind of wanted to talk to someone about what had happened. She wished for a moment that Emmett was there, because that was who she would normally go to when she wanted to talk. But there was someone else who was here that she could talk to, she realized. She'd have to talk instead of or at least in addition to signing, because while Wilke's ASL was improving, he still wasn't good enough to keep up with a fluent signer. But she could snuggle against him while she told him about it, which sounded really appealing just then.
She checked herself in the mirror briefly and then headed to his room, pausing outside the curtain to knock on the frame, hoping she caught him.
