Daphne had been a little nervous when she'd signed up for the swing dance competition, but she wanted to show off some of what she'd learned in Alcuin's class.
Once the partners had been announced, she'd moved to a lot nervous. She was paired with Guy Burgess, someone older than her that she didn't really know that well. Someone she didn't know what to expect from, how he would feel about having a deaf dance partner.
But she'd never let nerves or her deafness keep her from taking action, so she'd gotten directions to his home and made her way there, knocking firmly and without hesitation as she stood on the porch, waiting and hoping he was home so she could introduce herself and get the whole 'I'm deaf' thing out of the way.
